About the Crew

The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Tommy Rothery - Owner/Operator Culminating many years as a deck hand on long range boats, Tommy earned his captains license in 1978, giving him a wealth of hands on experience in this fishery.  With all this acknowledged skill and talent he has become one of the most successful and sought after guides in the fleet.
Drew Henderson, son of long time veteran skipper, John Henderson, started fishing at a young age.  He began his sport fishing career at the age of 13 working through high school before making the move up to long range joining the Polaris Supreme team in 2000.  In 2003 after three seasons on the Polaris Supreme, Drew became Captain and has proven to be a very accomplished skipper.
Richard Elias, otherwise known as “Richie” was born and raised in Phoenix.  He has been fishing with his dad since he was five years old.  With fishing in his blood he decided to start making some money at it and started working on the Holiday in 2000.  After five years with them he went to the Apollo for a year and then came to us in 2007.
We are pleased that he has acquired his captain’s license and that he has found his home on the Polaris Supreme.

Tommie L Miles: Also know as "Gunny" is a San Diego native. Tommie began his sport fishing career in 2002 after serving over 21 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, retired as a Gunnery Sergeant and began working on the 3/4 day boat San Diego for four years. He acquired his 100 ton masters license and spent the next six years working Long Range on the Shogun.

Tommie joined the Polaris Supreme in the spring of 2012. With his expert skills, knowledge and excellent customer service he is a great addition to the Polaris Supreme Team.

Jed, At the young age of four years old Jed began his life on the water fishing throughout the lakes of Southern California.  At the age of six he ventured onto the ocean to start his experience in his future career.  After 10 years of consistent fishing off the coastal waters of California he decided to make his dream a reality.  Starting on the Legend in 1996 he found his passion for working on sport fishing boats.

A brief hiatus from sport fishing lead him to other ventures around the country before he returned to San Diego, his true career and his permanent home on the Polaris Supreme in 2006.  His true passion on the boat then emerged and resonated in the form of teaching novice anglers something new everyday and ending each of those days with a smile.

Mark Clark - Deck hand and galley assistant.  Mark learned to fish fresh water in the Sierra's, Nevada, and all the rivers in the west.  He was coached by his father Jim Clark and grand father Walter.  Started saltwater fishing in his mid teens and then started working on six pack and day boats in the early 80's.  Then he made the transition up and started long range.  After attaining knowledge and experience from several different long range boats in the San Diego fleet he feels he has now found his home on the Polaris Supreme.

"Everything is perfect here.  I can work all summer and fall and then pursue my other love, snow skiing all winter in Tahoe and Mammoth Lakes" says Mark. He lives in Carson City with his son Chace Clark, who follows in his dad's footsteps with that same love of fishing and snow skiing.

Chef David Schoolergraduated from the San Diego Culinary Institute in 2002. Most recently he was working as a personal chef before joining the crew of the Polaris Supreme in the summer of 2009. His wide range of menus and expert skills in the galley are sure to please all.
